My role on this project was experiential designer at MATTE Projects. My responsibilities included creative devlopment of the guest journey, laying out the floorplan, 3D modelling and rendering all touchpoints / scenic builds, creating fabrication drawings / communicating design intent to our fabrication partner, sourcing furniture, and prepping print graphic files. I worked under ECD Michael Yu and senior experiential designer Andre Brown.

Netflix asked us to throw a rave celebrating the launch of their new movie Rebel Moon 2. Through immersive set design, we infused the Knockdown Center with the sci-fi world-building of the movie.

The look and feel of our scenic pieces was informed by the set design of the different worlds from the movie. Leaning into industrial materials like schedule 40 pipe, metal grating, and welded square tube created a dystopic warehouse environment when paired with Astera lights and the raw brick of the venue. Faux boulders and wheatfields in the photo moment and stage designs referenced the ecosystems of each planet.

Before the rave, Snyder hosted a book signing, featuring portraits of the talent he had taken on set. We carried our design cues into an industrial gallery display of skeletal black metal structures accented by tube lighting.
